COVID-19 Policy

We have a collective social responsibility to protect each other and our communities from the threat of Covid-19 during this challenging time. We must rely on guest co-operation to deliver the swift and safe turnaround of our holiday homes. Consequently, we’ll be asking you to take some simple steps before, during and after your stay so this can be achieved.

What we’re doing to keep you safe at Sheepscombe Byre.

There will be a thorough two step cleaning process, which involves cleaning first and sanitising with an approved BS EN 1276 product second. Particular attention will be paid to the hard surfaces and high touch points such as keys, light switches, banister rails, remote controls, kitchen appliances and door handles.

1. Before arriving at the property

Please familiarise yourself with the latest government guidelines on staying alert and safe after the 4th of July.

If you experience symptoms of Covid 19 or have been in contact with anyone who’s showing symptoms, please follow government guidelines and isolate at home. No-one should travel for their holiday under these circumstances.

Please travel to the property by private, not public, transport so that you can return home safely to self-isolate if you develop symptoms during your holiday.

If it’s important to your family and friends, please remember to pack books, board games and DVDs.

Please bring essential items such as hand sanitiser and masks on holiday with you, so you can stay safe when out and about. We’d also recommend bringing your own essential cleaning products in case local stocks are running low.
Please do let us know if you plan to arrive an hour or more later then the stated check-in time, as the housekeeping team will appreciate any additional time to prepare the property for your arrival.

For everyone’s safety, please do not enter the property if the housekeepers are still present.

To reduce the risk of unessential contact, all properties will be accessed using a key safe and there won’t be any face-to-face meet and greets. Please rest assured that there’s a wealth of property information in the guest information tablet and for properties that usually have a meet and greet any essential information will be shared with you over the phone.

2. During your stay

Please adhere to the government social distancing guidelines and wash your hands regularly.

If you experience symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with anyone who’s showing symptoms, please let us know immediately. You’ll need to follow government guidelines, including obtaining a Covid-19 test and returning home to self-isolate. Information on what to do and how you can get a test can be found here.

Please let us know if you plan to depart any earlier than the stated check-out time, as the housekeeping teams will appreciate any additional time available to prepare the property for the next arriving guests.

3. Prior to leaving the property

Please let us know if you plan to depart any earlier than the stated check-out time, as the housekeeping teams will appreciate any additional time available to prepare the property for the next arriving guests.

Please strip the beds and place all lined and towels into the linen bags provided. Please bag linen and towels separately. This essential step will help reduce the significant risks housekeeping teams are being exposed to.

Empty all household waste into the black bin bags, seal, and place into the external wheelie bins for collection. This includes bedroom and bathroom waste bins as well as any food items that you are not taking away with you.

Please ensure everything has been cleared away, the property is left tidy and the dishwasher has been started; this will allow housekeepers enough time to thoroughly clean and sanitise the house ahead of the next guests’ arrival.
Please ensure you depart the property and parking areas no later than 10am.

Thank you for your support.

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks for your understanding during these times. Whilst it’s impossible to guarantee with 100% certainty that no trace of the virus is present, please rest assured that every effort will be made to ensure your safety while staying with us.
