Sport in the Cotswolds

Horses play a large part in life in the Cotswolds, and in the sporting events and facilities on offer.

You can find horse racing at our local courses of Stratford upon Avon, WorcesterWarwick and Cheltenham, with the world class Cheltenham Gold Cup Festival in March. Each racecourse also holds events and entertainments throughout the year.

Local point-to-points are relaxed events and there are several in Gloucestershire and the South West.

Horseriding lessons and ‘splendind hacks’ are available from Jill Carenza Equestrian in nearby Stanton.

Ballooning in the Cotswolds has a launch site about 10 miles away at Bourton-on-the-Water.

Golf can be played at the beautiful Broadway Golf Course and at Naunton Downs Golf Club.
