Looking towards Snowshill

Looking across the valley towards Snowshill

There are many beautiful circular walks (hikes) from Sheepscombe Byre, or a short drive from Snowshill. Here are four of them:

Snowshill, Stanton and the Edge Walk

This walk starts virtually from our doorstep with Sheepscombe House (and Byre) shown on the map. The 6 mile hike  takes about 3.5 to 4.5 hours. The Mount Inn at Stanton provides excellent refreshment half way round.

Broadway Tower Walk

Broadway Tower is a five minute drive from Sheepscombe Byre. Park at the tower and walk down into Broadway for coffee and back up to the tower for lunch. Or vice versa. This 4 mile hike takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, these directions from National Trail will help.

Chipping Campden Walk

A 10 minute drive from Sheepscombe Byre, Chipping Campden is one of the loveliest Cotswold towns. This 4.5 mile hike takes 2.5 to 3.5 hours and takes in Dover’s Hill, the site of the Cotswold Olympicks.

At the end of your walk take the time to visit the magnificent St. James’ Church, home to Campden Music Festival.

Winchcombe and Belas Knap Walk

Winchcombe is about 20 minutes from Snowshill and this 5.25 mile hike will take about 3 – 4 hours. Belas Knap long barrow is just over half way round, and Winchcombe offers a good choice of eateries on your return. You might like to pop in to Winchcombe Pottery on your way home.
